You use FauxFoundry by dragging and dropping fonts from your computer onto FauxFoundry (“drag-drop fonts”) or by selecting fonts from a predefined list (“predefined fonts”).
No data from drag-drop fonts is stored by FauxFoundry, parsed by FauxFoundry or transmitted by FauxFoundry to any other entity. This applies to both FauxFoundry’s front-end and back-end components. Specifically: no glyph outline data is parsed or processed by FauxFoundry; no glyph outline data is uploaded to the FauxFoundry server; no data from the
name table is uploaded to the FauxFoundry server; no file data (filename, file date, file size, etc.) is uploaded to the FauxFoundry server.
Drag-drop fonts are displayed in FauxFoundry as data URL @font-face webfonts, all font data staying at the front end (the browser).
FauxFoundry uses two cookies to function:
This is a session identifier that allows you sign into FauxFoundry securely. After signing in you have access to your Settings, your History and other aspects of your account at FauxFoundry.
This determines whether the intro script has been played. If it is undefined or false, then the intro text is played. The Reset button resets this cookie.
Access to your stored data by FauxFoundry
FauxFoundry is able to inspect your name, your email address and your usage of the website as stored in the History page. Usage data includes the axis settings that were determined by FauxFoundry at the time of the usage, the timestamp of that usage, and any errors that arose in processing. FauxFoundry does not have access to font names or any other font data, because no font data is transferred to FauxFoundry.
